Foreign ownership can be 100%. A resident director and activity-specific approvals may still be required, depending on the structure and business activity.
A resident director and a shareholder are different roles. An ordinary company needs at least one director ordinarily resident in Mauritius. Shareholding and additional requirements are checked when selecting the structure and business activity.
Registering or buying a company does not replace residence and work permissions. The suitable residence route and eligibility conditions are checked separately, taking your role in the business into account.
Timing depends on the structure, complete documents and KYC checks. Incorporation, a bank account and sector licences are separate steps; the overall schedule is confirmed after reviewing your circumstances.
Remote opening depends on the bank and its KYC checks. The bank may request a business plan, evidence of source of funds and additional documents. Company registration does not guarantee a bank account.
You need accounting, tax filings and annual corporate filings. VAT, employer, licensing and staffing requirements depend on the activity. Tax and legal matters are reviewed with the appropriate specialists.
